Create your dream smile with Signature Dental!
Bonding and veneers can give you the healthy and attractive smile you want. Both can improve the look of healthy teeth.
If problems with your teeth are minor and do not require extensive treatment, bonding is a great choice. Veneers are the better choice for when an entire tooth could benefit from cosmetic coverage.
Bonding
Bonding is the process of applying a resin material to the front of your tooth, creating a natural-looking and blemish-free cover.
Bonding can improve many dental issues:
• Decay
• Chips and cracks
• Discoloration
• Large gaps
• Misshapen or extended teeth
• Exposed roots from receding gums
The bonding procedure is painless, although we may use some numbing anesthetics if there is decay.
The entire process takes under an hour, an easy lunchtime fix, that gets you back to work in no time at all.
With advancements in cosmetic dental technology, natural-looking resin colors can be perfectly matched to your existing teeth.
We can complete bonding efficiently in our office.
Veneers
Porcelain veneers, or porcelain laminates, are another option for cosmetic dental work.
Veneers are thin pieces of porcelain that sit on the front layer of your teeth. They can change the shape and length of your teeth, and improve the color.
A single veneer can be placed to cover just one tooth. However, if you want to improve the appearance of your entire smile, you may need to have a full set (6-8 teeth) of veneers. A complete set will ensure that all the teeth that show when you smile are the same size, color, and shape.
Although veneers can be placed directly on the teeth, doing so will make the teeth thicker and may not be aesthetically desirable. Therefore, adjustment or preparation of your natural teeth to allow for a minimum thickness of porcelain is usually needed.
While veneers cannot repair significant tooth damage, they are a perfect and permanent solution for chips, cracks, and gaps in your teeth. They are an especially popular solution for those with staining from surgery, medication, or too much fluoride.
To craft your veneers, Dr. Thiel will first take dental impressions for exact measurements. Then in a second appointment, he’ll place wafer-thin shells over your existing teeth, matching them in size, shape, and color.
Veneers are durable and can last for 15 or more years with proper and consistent care.
